Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is an on-grid solar system and how does it work?
An on-grid solar system is connected to the electricity grid. It generates power during the day, supplies electricity to your home or business, and sends extra power to the grid. At night or when solar power is low, you automatically use electricity from the grid.
2. Will I still get electricity if there is a power cut?
Yes. Our platform supports multiple currencies, allowing you to transact and track accounts in different currencies. Exchange rates are updated in real time so you always know the true value.
3. What is net metering and how does it reduce my bill?
Net metering allows you to export excess solar power to the grid. The exported units are adjusted against your electricity bill, which helps reduce your monthly bill significantly and, in some cases, bring it close to zero.
4. Is government subsidy available for on-grid solar systems?
Yes. Government subsidies are available for residential on-grid solar systems as per MNRE guidelines. Wemega also assists with documentation and the subsidy application process.
5. How much roof space is required for an on-grid solar system?
On average, 1 kW of solar power requires about 80–100 sq. ft. of shadow-free roof area. The exact requirement depends on your energy consumption and site conditions.
